9/30 directors ⇢ David Lynch“I like to make films because I like to go into another world. I like to get lost in another world. And film to me is a magical medium that makes you dream…allows you to dream in the dark. It’s just a fantastic thing, to get lost inside the world of film.”

I’d like to thank my body, for giving me my most uncomfortable period to date…I don’t know what i would do without your ever-present bloating and inside-churning cramps. Oh and the shits! Can’t forget my evenings spent with you… Thank you, hormones, for blessing me with this opportunity for discomfort and misdirected anger. Thank you. And thanks in advance for staining my sheets tonight.
Lena Dunham dedicated her award to all the girls who never found a space for themselves.
Four for you, White Women. And none for PoC, bye.
I thought this was very well-written and informative.
I’m always saying “I’m sorry for what white people have done to you/continue to do to you” but I don’t always follow that with a solution to the problem at hand.
Time to change that.
Omg, I want to print this out and throw them everywhere, especially at school, so many people do these things and don’t understand that racism is at lot more subversive than someone just spewing racial slurs
SUCH a good resource!!!!
” “We don’t have a racism problem here at this (school,
organization, community).” or “We didn’t have a racism
problem in this town until that Mexican family moved
here.”
REALITY CHECK + CONSEQUENCE:
As white people, we do not have to think about racism when our
school, organization or community is all white. Racism does not
usually become apparent TO WHITES until there are people of
color in their frame of reference.”
Oh my gosh, this happens in my mostly white high school all the time. I feel awkward during anti-bullying seminars when I’m the only person who brings up racism at our school and non-POC student says that it isn’t a problem at our school…..
